Background Summary:
   I was employed by PacifiCorp Energy for 36 years. I worked at the Dave Johnston power plant for twenty-six years where I was in operations for three years then completed an industrial journeyman mechanic apprenticeship and worked as a mechanic for six years before I moved into a maintenance management role.
   My maintenance management role included mechanical planning, craft supervision, project manager, outage coordination and planning department manager. In 2003 I transferred to Salt Lake City to lead the corporate Overhaul Management Process Improvement initiative and to manage the 10 year scheduled plants outage fleet schedule. In 2006 I moved into a field role providing onsite overhaul outage planning, execution coordination and Primavera scheduling support.  In 2011 I accepted a position as the Maintenance Production Manager at the Lakeside Combined Cycle plant from which I retired in 2013.
    Since February 2014 I have worked as a contract project and construction manager. My project assignments have included the demolition and reconstruction of a 9 cell and a 10 cell crossflow cooling tower. In addition, I developed the RFP for and worked with procurement through award of contract for the replacement of an 11 cell crossflow tower. Other projects have included several fire protection system modifications and upgrades to meet NFPA requirements and the installation of a metal building extension and a MCC enclosure extension.

Experience: Contract Project and Construction Manager                             2014 - 2015

·         Jim Bridger Plant Unit 1 Cooling Tower replacement – February 2014 to September 2014. This was the demolition and replacement of a 9 cell Marley crossflow tower, repairs of two extension cells and replacement of three fire protection deluge valve buildings and deluge valves. Tower and deluge system construction was completed in May and a CTI thermal performance test successfully passed in September. This project was completed on time and under budget.

·         Jim Bridger Plant Unit 3 Cooling Tower replacement –   August 2014 to December 2015

I was assigned this project in August 2014 to develop the justification for the project             appropriation request, approval documentation and contract coordination to meet budget forecast plan. This was the demolition and replacement of a 10 cell Marley crossflow cooling tower, repairs of one extension cell and replacement of three fire protection deluge valve buildings and deluge valves. This project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.

·         Jim Bridger Plant Coal Yard Controls Upgrade UPS building and MCC extension. -   March 2014 thru September 2014

Developed the SOW from a specification provided by a 3rd party engineering company, coordinated with procurement on the award of the contract and acted as the construction manager for the installation. This project was completed on time and on budget. 

·              Dave Johnston Fire Protection Projects – June 2014 thru November 2014

These projects include SOW development, RFPs, RFIs and job walks. Some of these projects were deferred or cancelled. The installations were managed locally once contract awards were made.  

·         Hunter Unit 3 Cooling Tower 11 cell replacement – Replacement in March 2016

I was assigned this project in September 2014 to develop the justification for the project   appropriation request, approval documentation and procurement process to award contract. Contract was awarded in April 2015.  This project was reassigned to a different project manager enabling me to work the construction of the Jim Bridger Unit 3 project. I continued to support the assigned project manager with development of the construction schedule and CTI Performance Code testing SOW.


Maintenance Production Manager/ Lake Side Generating Station (Combined Cycle)  
                                                                                                   April 2011 – November, 2013

·         This role included leading compliance with safety procedures and environmental regulations during maintenance activities. My duties included coordination with plant manager, operations, safety and environmental staff to facilitate prioritizing of work, scheduling and work assignments to plant maintenance personnel, tag outs, pre-job safety briefs and tailboard meetings, oversight of work activities, budgeting, cost tracking, technical direction and QA/QC. This included evaluation of requested work, planning, parts ordering, writing SOWs and RFPs for contract services.

·         I was responsible as the company representative and project manager on the many of the contracted jobs.

·         Lead the activities involved with hiring of department personnel. Confirmed that employee training and safety assignments were performed. Addressed employee issues.

·         Administration of maintenance activities in SAP – This includes work order management, PM development and generation, requisition of materials, set up of equipment masters, cost reviews, budget development and cost management.

·         Plant NERC CIPs administrator – Administer compliance with Homeland Security Cyber Assets and Physical security regulations.

·         Equipment inspections of NEM heat recovery steam generators, Siemens 501F combustion turbines, Siemens generators and associated balance of plant equipment including two complete disassembly and reassembly of a Siemens 501F CT and generator. 

 

 

 

Internal Consultant: Project Controls/Scheduler

PacifiCorp Energy – Generation Engineering    Salt Lake City, Utah            2006 - 2011      
 

·         Wyodak Generating Station.  Fall 2010 through April 2011- Supported plant management in development and planning of outage balance of plant work. This included work scope development, SAP order entry and parts ordering. Mentored the plant management team in outage planning and coordination, served as the outage coordinator support, and was the company's lead scheduler on this overhaul. This outage included a bag house installation, an air cooled condenser replacement, major boiler refurbishment and a turbine/generator major overhaul. 

·         Huntington Unit 1 Overhaul scheduling support. Fall 2010 – I was assigned to assist on this major construction and maintenance outage at the Huntington plant when the schedule development ran into coordination and development issues between the contractor schedulers and the company scheduler team. I facilitated the recovery of the schedule and stayed on as a lead scheduler until the schedule issues were resolved.

·         Dave Johnston 2010 Overhaul coordination and scheduling support.             Spring 2010
